Senate Impeachment – Democrats Demand Same Control They Had In House
In what should not be a surprise, the Democrats, with Schumer leading, are now demanding that the Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell call for witnesses and give them the same unilateral power they enjoyed in the House.
“Senate Democrats believe strongly, and I trust Senate Republicans agree, that this trial must be one that is fair, that considers all of the relevant facts, and that exercises the Senate’s sole Power of Impeachment’ under the Constitution with integrity and dignity,” Schumer writes in the letter, noting that it must be a process that passes the “fairness test with the American people.”
“That is the great challenge for the Senate in the coming weeks,” Schumer added.
No, Senator Schumer, we don’t agree. We think the same consideration should be given to your request as was given to the Republican requests by the House. In other words, the same treatment should be extended to the Democrats in the Senate that we saw the House give to the Republicans by Schiff and Nadler, after all, that only seems fair.
No, Senator Schumer, we don’t agree. We think the same consideration should be given to your request as was given to the Republican requests by the House.
Liberal News outlets, after excusing the actions of the House in their impeachment hearings, with the total lack of access to witnesses, or the right to call in their own, are now demanding the Senate give full access to the liberals and to allow them the same authority in the Senate that they enjoyed in the House. Sorry USA Today, things don’t work that way.
I know Chuck Schumer and others have called for these hearing to be done quickly, but I still disagree, they should take this time to call up Hunter and Joe Biden, to call Schiff to the stand, to expose the whistleblower, and to call up all the witnesses that the Democrats refused to allow the Republicans to have access to.
Furthermore, dealing with classified testimony, testimony the Democrats knew would hurt them if it was seen, this needs to be both declassified and brought into the public realm, it is not the time for haste, it is time to lay this out for all Americans to see.
As a rule, I stand for fairness, but that is not what was seen in the House and to give the Democrats access to continue this sham in the Senate would be unforgivable. It is time to call them out, then lay their sins out in the open for all to see.
